January is jam-packed with organizing celebrations… it’s National Get Organized Month, last Monday was "Organize Your Home Day," this Monday the 14th was "National Clean Off Your Desk Day" and it’s also "Life Balance Month."
In the spirit of Life Balance, I have a few things I am focusing on for 2008… one is Conquering Fear (read more about this here). Another is Experiencing More Joy… just having more fun, on purpose. I am trying to listen to more music, walk more instead of driving, read more books for pleasure, play more on my computer instead of just working, and spend more time with my children. I might even skydive again. I am NOTICING and APPRECIATING the happy times more and living more in the moment.
What are you focusing on this year? Are you having fun yet? Are you living in the moment? If you are a high-achiever and goal-setter, don’t forget set some goals for relaxing and enjoying your life too.
This morning as I stepped out of the shower, I discovered I had gotten up 1 hour to early (which explains why the family pets were looking at me with a dumbfounded expression). Rather then return to bed, I opted to take my time going to work. I stopped at a newsstand and had a great breakfast while reading the latest Outside Magazine, took a more scenic route to work and still got here early.
I might do this “for fun” more often!
