Teacher gift ideas are often hard to come up with, and it's hard to remember to buy a gift with all of the parties and summer preparations going on this time of year.
But we really want to thank the teachers, coaches, and tutors who have spent the last nine months with our children – pouring heart and soul into preparing each child for the next year, for life to come. And NOT with another coffee mug (creating clutter)!
Here are a couple of great organizing-related ideas for teachers' gifts I wanted to share:
- Help them get dinner on the table after a long day at school with a gift subscription to The Six O'Clock Scramble menu-planning service. My friend Aviva is the creator of this amazing program, which provides a healthful, kid-tested menu plan each week with its own shopping list. I have been using Aviva's service (and her cookbooks) for years. For all gift subscriptions purchased between now and June 15th, 2012, she's giving you $2 off a 3-month subscription (for a discounted total of $19.00) or $4 off a six-month subscription ($33 after discount) when you use the promotion code GRAD2012 at checkout. All gift subscriptions are emailed to the recipient in a welcoming format that you can personalize (and you don't have to wrap it!).
- Give them a head start on next year with my friend Helene Segura's book, Less Stress For Teachers: More Time & An Organized Classroom. I am so proud of Helene writing this book, because she is one of our Clutter Diet team of experts, and she is a former Teacher of the Year too! We have a 20% off coupon for you, good through June 15, 2012– use the code apple at checkout.

Thanks for recommending my dinner planning service for teachers and grads, Lorie!
Another idea that doesn’t cost anything — a nice letter of appreciation letting the teacher know what your child enjoyed most this year, what the teacher did that was especially interesting, motivating, helpful, etc. AND send a copy of the letter to the Principal! Priceless!
Thanks for recommending my book as a gift for teachers, Lorie!
Molly, I love your idea, too, especially the part about sending a copy to the principal.
My pleasure Aviva and Helene! I like your idea about the letter as well, Molly.
